What is ORBERA?

What happens during the placement of the ORBERA?

The program starts with a soft balloon placed in your stomach which stays there for six months to reinforce proper portion control. Once the balloon is placed, patients receive coaching from a team of experts including a dietician, psychologist and an exercise physiologist.

This is a 20 to 30 minute procedure, and patients are able to go home the very same day. This procedure is nonsurgical and is done under mild sedation. What happens after the removal of the ORBERA?

After six months with the balloon, the patient comes back in for the removal. The balloon is removed the same way it was placed, through a nonsurgical procedure done under mild sedation. The balloon is deflated and then removed from the patient’s stomach.

The support doesn’t stop after the balloon is removed. Patients will continue to receive the coaching for six months following the removal of the balloon, offering the best results.
