Dr. Jonathan Rhee completed his medical school training at George Washington University and he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha honor society at graduation. He completed his urology residency training at University of Virginia where he served as the urology chief resident. He recently completed an advanced Fellowship at George Washington University in minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. Rhee’s special interests include kidney cancer, ureteral cancer, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, BPH, kidney stones, ureteropelvic obstruction, incontinence and erectile dysfunction.
He is proficient in laparoscopy, Da-Vinci robotic surgery and all endoscopic procedures that include percutaneous nephrolithotomy, complex ureteroscopy, photovaporization of prostate for BPH and endoscopic treatment of bladder cancer.
Dr. Rhee’s research includes hand-assisted, laparoscopic, partial nephrectomy, surgical complications of robotic prostatectomy, outcomes of robotic, radical cystectomy, and evaluation of urethral stricture disease. He wrote book chapters on endoscopic treatment of upper, urinary-tract, transitional-cell carcinoma and management of upper tract neoplasm.
Dr. Rhee is the first fellowship-trained, minimally invasive robotic surgeon in Prince Georges County and the only one in Montgomery County.
